Franz Ferdinand – Konopiště Open course

The Discgolf Course in Konopiště castle park is one of the longest and toughest courses in Europe. It has hosted three big tournaments in the previous years, such as Czech Disc Golf Championships and EuroTour. For the first two years the events were hosted on a course designed by promoter Premysl Novak and the best Czech disc golf player Lukas Filandr. Before the 2015 EuroTour event Jussi Meresmaa tuned up the course. Total length increased to over 3 000 meters and the new par became 66. For the upcoming Disc Golf World Tour event Meresmaa decided to make the course even longer and tougher. The course is named after Franz Ferdinand – The Royal Prince of Hungary and of Bohemia.

“This park is maybe the most beautiful area where I have designed a course. The DGWT layout is long but every hole offers its own kind of challenge and there is not a single hole that players would not be looking forward to play. There are several holes with hole-in-one potential as well as long par fives where you can shoot an 8 or an eagle depending on how you place your shots.” Jussi Meresmaa, course designer
